East of the River Backyard Beekeeping Club

Shhh…do you hear that buzzzzing sound? If not, you will surely hear it this spring! The River East Emerging Leaders hosted an East of the River Backyard Beekeeper interest meeting last week. We had about a dozen residents from Wards 7 and 8 participate in the meeting in which we talked about how to get started, the role bees’ play in the environment and how sensitive the species are to climate change. They all left "pumped up" to get started as Backyard Beekeepers! If you missed the meeting and still would like to participate it is not to late.
